The Jacob Center 2019 Holiday Gift Drive Reminder

The holiday season is nearly upon us, and we at The Jacob Center are preparing for our annual Holiday Gift Drive. Last year, the generous contributions of community members and businesses helped make the holidays memorable for 180 kids and families. The impact of such a community outpouring of support is felt long after the holidays are over. Increased self-esteem, pride, surprise and gratitude are but a few of the byproducts of this type of giving.

With the approaching holidays we would like to request that you keep our youth and organization in mind when considering making a tax deductible contribution this holiday season.

You may choose to make a monetary donation, sponsor a youth or make general donations of items to be equally disbursed. The following is a list of items commonly enjoyed or needed by these deserving children and families.

  • Gift cards (This allows the kids to practice budgeting or for parents to purchase gifts)
  • Art & Craft Supplies (sketch pads, drawing pencils, paints, jewelry making supplies, model building, tie dye, etc.)
  • Sports equipment (footballs, basketballs, tennis rackets, safety equipment, rollerblades, frisbees, kick balls, volleyballs, soccer balls, bikes, etc.)
  • New Clothing and shoes (all sizes)

If you are interested in providing sponsorship to a specific child and fulfilling their “wish list”, or a gift or two on their list, please let us know as soon as possible as lists can be made available in mid-November.

Thank you for your careful consideration and may the season be kind to you and yours. Please contact Stephanie at stephanie@jacobcenter.org, Emily at emily@jacobcenter.org or Erin at erin@jacobcenter.org with questions or if you would like to make a contribution.

NYPUM Program Announcement

After careful consideration the Jacob Center Board of Directors has made the difficult decision to discontinue the NYPUM Program. Many factors contributed to this decision, the biggest of which being programmatic sustainability and resources. We would like to thank our staff, community, and NYPUM youth and families for their participation and for making this program something to be proud of. The Jacob Center will continue to provide alternate Healthy Risk Taking opportunities for youth via our existing programs.

We were so honored to receive the 2019 Jim Drendel community is the Solution Award at the National Child Abuse Prevention Awards Celebration. Recognized for our commitment to children and families in need in Larimer County, we would not have come this far without the dedication of our incredible team, the support of the community, agencies, friends, and family.
